PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aromatic polyamide not containing a chlorine atom in a polymer structure, and keeping polymer soluble in a nonprotonic polar solvent without adding an inorganic salt in a polymerization step, and to provide an aromatic polyamide film containing the aromatic polyamide.
