PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric vehicle controller by which failure determination can be carried out without using an external device. SOLUTION: Failure of a voltage sensor 2 is detected, an inverter is turned off, and a first opening contactor 3 is opened for disconnecting the inverter 5 from the failed voltage sensor 2. Moreover, by opening the first opening contactor 3, the inverter 5 can be protected from an induced voltage generated by a permanent magnet synchronous motor 1 when the permanent magnet synchronous motor 1 is rotated at a high speed. For this reason, without depending on types of vehicles and a facility apparatus, a failure determination means is executed, and the reliability of the apparatus can be improved by controlling the first opening contactor using an opening contactor operation determination means based on determination of the failure determination means.
