The method involves rotating a steering handle (2) of an electronically regulated servo steering system (1) by an activation unit. A steering wheel angle (delta-S) is provided as a measure for a wheel steering angle (delta-Fm) for a steering wheel (5a,5b) of a motor vehicle (20). A check key (21) or a machine interface (23) is provided for the motor vehicle.
