<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and accurately perform magnetic inspection while suppressing device cost. <P>SOLUTION: A printed matter inspection device is configured as follows: when a distance between a measuring surface of a magnetic head of the device and printed matter becomes very small via jets of air, a movement control section allows the magnetic head to start scanning without waiting for a thermal equilibrium state where a temperature change of the magnetic head stops; after the start of the scanning, a magnetism-information-storage instruction section instructs a storage section to store a signal value obtained from the magnetic head; an approximate-curve calculation section extracts among signals stored in the storage section magnetism-free signal values corresponding to portions in which magnetism has not been detected, and calculates an approximate curve representing a history of change in the extracted magnetism-free signal values; and a correction processing section corrects the signal values stored in the storage section based on the calculated approximate curve. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
