PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lens barrel which is reduced in size while maintaining the thrust of an actuator; and also to provide an imaging apparatus. SOLUTION: The lens barrel is equipped with: a fourth group holding frame 4 which holds a focus lens 4 moving in an optical axis direction H; and a VCM actuator which moves the fourth group holding frame in the optical axis direction. The VCM actuator has: a yoke 61 having a portion extending in parallel to the optical axis direction; and a second yoke 62 arranged vertically in the optical axis direction. The second yoke 62 is smaller in thickness and larger in width than the first yoke 61, and the cross-section area in thickness and width of the first yoke 61 is equal to that of the second yoke 62.
