<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate away various harmful substances such as oil from contaminated soil. <P>SOLUTION: In this method for separating away harmful substances, a vacuum pump 6 is operated to evacuate air from the inside of a housing body 3 and decrease the air pressure in the housing body. When the air pressure in the housing body 3 is thus decreased, the boiling point of the oil is lowered with the decrease in the air pressure in the housing body, and the oil in the oil-contaminated soil 2 volatilizes immediately. In addition, since the housing body 3 is formed of an airtight sheet 11, the atmospheric pressure acts on the oil-contaminated soil 2 through the sheet. As a result, the discharge of the oil contained in the oil-contaminated soil 2 to the outside of the housing body 3 is accelerated by the application of the atmospheric pressure in addition to the effects of the volatilization due to the pressure decrease and the oil can more efficiently be separated and removed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
