<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a printing defect with respect to inks of all the colors in color inkjet printing. <P>SOLUTION: This printer that performs color printing by an inkjet system, has a scanning mechanism for moving a recording medium in a scanning direction and an ejection unit for ejecting fine liquid droplets of ink toward the printing medium in the way of conveyance by the scanning mechanism. In the printer, a page identifier 95 printed on each page of the printing medium is imaged by an image capturing section, and a page identification result acquired from an output of the image capturing section and page identification information included in print data are compared with each other by an inspection section. Since the page identifier 95 includes monochrome parts 951a to 951d printed by only each of inks of a plurality of colors used in the printer, it is possible to immediately detect a printing defect in inspection of the first page on which the printing defect occurs even when the printing defect of ink of any color in the plurality of colors occurs. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
