<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus which presents to a user a power saving effect corresponding to contents of power saving setting of an individual component. <P>SOLUTION: A power saving measuring part 303 measures a power saving amount of each component set in a power saving state in accordance with a power saving parameter corresponding to each component in a computer 10. A usage time measuring part 304 measures a usage time of the computer 10 within a prescribed period. A power saving effect calculating part 305 calculates a power saving effect value on the basis of the measured power saving amount of each component and the usage time of the computer 10. A power consumption measuring part 306 measures an actual power consumption amount of the computer 10 within the prescribed period.
