<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an airbag device having an airbag which can quickly protect an object to be protected, and can be reused when a collision of a vehicle does not actually occur. <P>SOLUTION: The airbag device S includes the airbag 23 and a gas supplier 14 to supply inflation gas to the airbag 23. The airbag 23 is configured to be able to inflate in a two-stage mode: a preliminary inflation mode in which the airbag preliminarily inflates in an elastic deformation region of a synthetic resin constituting a peripheral wall by making the inflation gas flow thereto; and a regular inflation mode in which the airbag inflates in a plastically deformed state with the peripheral wall extended by inner pressure raised to be higher than in the preliminary inflation mode. The gas supplier 14 is configured to be able to cancel the preliminary inflation state of the airbag 23 if no collision of the vehicle is detected after preliminary inflation, and to inflate the airbag 23 in the regular inflation mode if the collision of the vehicle is detected after preliminary inflation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
