PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a profile generating apparatus, along with the method and the program and the printing system, capable of greatly reducing an operation amount required for printing, covering of a protective film and colorimetry, without causing a reduction in color reproduction accuracy of a protective-film-covered print. SOLUTION: A spectral data group 102 of media and a laminating film spectral data group 104 corresponding to a plurality of colors formed on a color chart 38c respectively are stored. The type of the media 36 and the type of a laminating film 40 are set. From the spectral data group 102 of the media and the laminating film spectral data group 104, spectral data corresponding to the set media 36 are selected as first spectral data 112, and spectral data corresponding to the set type of the laminating film 40 are selected as second spectral data 114.
