The present invention discloses a method for feeding back a channel quality indicator of an uplink access link. The method includes the following steps: a relay node (RN) measures the channel quality indicator (CQI) of an uplink access link; a physical uplink control channel of a relay link (R-PUCCH) bears the CQI of the uplink access link, or a physical uplink shared channel of the relay link (R-PUSCH) bears the CQI of the uplink access link; the RN sends the CQI to a base station. The present invention also discloses an apparatus for feeding back the channel quality indicator of the uplink access link. With the technical scheme of the present invention, the problem that the RN feeds the CQI of the uplink access link back to the base station can be solved, thus the backward compatibility (compatible with the long time evolution (LTE) system) can be ensured, and the technical scheme of the present invention can be adapted for the link from the RN to the base station appropriately. The technical scheme of the present invention has a flexible notifying manner, and facilitates the base station to perform a schedule uniformly.
