<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recycling plasma display panels (PDPs) which enables recycle, as an industrial material, of glass substrates used as a front- and a back-surface substrate. <P>SOLUTION: A method of treating a waste plasma display panel comprises crushing the glass substrate of a waste plasma display panel which is composed of a front-surface plate having a front layer consisting of a displaying electrode/dielectric layer and a protective layer on a glass substrate and a back-surface plate having a front layer consisting of an electrode/partition/fluorescent layer on a substrate, arranged oppositely, into glass fragments and agitating the fragments with a nitric acid solution of a concentration of at least 50 g/L to remove the front layer from the glass fragments and recover silver, bismuth and zinc contained in the front surfaces. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
