PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive insulated switching power unit which is equipped with a control circuit which has high stability as well as high responsiveness. SOLUTION: A control circuit on the output side has an error amplification circuit 34 and a PWM circuit 36 which modulates the pulse width of its output by using a reference triangular wave. It includes an OFF signal generating circuit 38 which generates a timing signal for OFF of a main switching element 14 by a PWM signal. A control circuit on the input side includes a basic pulse generating circuit 26 which generates a timing signal for ON of the main switching element 14, and a triangular wave reset signal generating circuit 28 which sends a triangular wave reset signal to the PWM circuit 36. It includes a drive pulse generating circuit 30 which receives an ON signal Va and an OFF signal Vg and generates a drive pulse for the main switching element 14.
