PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grain dryer including an intermittent discharge type rotary valve and enabling prompt switching to a charge mode by securely detecting additional charge. SOLUTION: The grain dryer includes: a charge mode for operating an elevating machine (5) to transfer and store charged grain in a storage chamber (2); and a ventilation and circulation mode of operating the elevating machine (5), a suction fan (7) and the intermittent discharge type rotary valve (8) to perform ventilation while circulating the grain in the storage chamber (2). The grain dryer includes a control device switching the charge mode to the ventilation and circulation mode, provided that charged grain is run out of in the charge mode and switching the ventilation and circulation mode to the charge mode when change in information by addition of new charged grain is detected in the ventilation and circulation mode.
