PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a separation membrane module inexpensively without degrading the flow rate of a treating fluid flowing along the outer face of a separation membrane element. SOLUTION: Four or more vertical cylindrical separation membrane elements 12 are juxtaposed in a module body 11. The separation membrane elements 12 are divided into a plurality of groups G containing the plurality of the separation membrane elements 12 in every group. The separation membrane elements 12 of respective groups are surrounded with one vertical cylindrical fluid conduit 51. A one-way treatment path 52 directed upward or downward is formed between the outer face of the separation membrane element 12 of the respective groups G and the inner face of the fluid conduit 51.
