PURPOSE:To obtain a therapeutic agent for osteoporosis containing a peptide having a human interleukin-1 binding ability as an active ingredient and having an action inhibiting active expression of interleukin-1. CONSTITUTION:The objective therapeutic agent contains a peptide of the formula H-X 1-Cys-A-B-A-B-A-Ser-X 2-Y (A is amino acid residue, Val, Leu, lie or Nle; B is amino acid residue, Arg, Lys, Gln, His or Ser; X 1 and X 2 are single bond or peptide fragment consisting of amino acid residue of Gly, Ala, Val, Arg, Asn, Ser, Phe, Leu, etc.; Y is OH or amino) or its salt as an active ingredient. The therapeutic agent is useful for treatment of para-articular osteoporosis accompanied by rheumatoid arthritis, absorption of alveolar bone accompanied by periodontitis, high rotation type osteoporosis after menopause, senile osteoporosis, etc. The dose is 2g-0.1mug/kg/adult. |
