<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packing box casing for a reciprocating compressor, specifically but not exclusively, a hyper compressor for producing polyethylene polymer and copolymer, which improves operational reliability and durable years of a packing box pack of the compressor in comparison with conventional compressors. <P>SOLUTION: The packing box casing (22) for a cylinder (10) of the reciprocating compressor includes a first outside disk (28) and a second inside disk (30). The second inside disk (30) is concentric with respect to the outside disk (28). At least one seat for a piston (10) sealing element is formed in the interior. At least a portion of the packing box casing (22) is manufactured from a high strength alloy material prepared by the process for improving mechanical characteristics of the packing box casing (22), including a melting step; a following plastic deformation step; and a final heat treatment step. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
