PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely suppress problems caused by deviations in polarity of liquid crystals when displaying a three-dimensional video.

SOLUTION: The image display device includes a left and right video signal-control unit 120 which receives input of image signals and outputs signals to alternately display an image for the right eye and an image for the left eye, a liquid crystal display panel 134 into which the signals converted in the left and right video signal-control unit 120 are input and which alternately displays the image for the right eye and the image for the left eye; and a timing control unit 126 which performs polarity inversion of the driving voltage of the liquid crystal display panel 134 by signals at least every time both the image for the right eye and the image for the left eye are displayed.
