PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use one interpolation module to obtain one desired processing result by either the Bilinear method or the Nearest-Neighbor method, when the size of an image is changed. SOLUTION: According to local characteristics of image data inputted, either the Bilinear method or the Nearest-Neighbor method is chosen as a processing method for interpolation. Coordinate data of a pixel before image size change corresponding to a pixel of the image data after image size change is extracted. When the Bilinear method is chosen, interpolation processing by the Bilinear method is applied based on the coordinate data, when the Nearest-Neighbor method is chosen, the coordinate data is processed so that a result of interpolation processing by the Bilinear method may become equal to a result of interpolation processing by the Nearest-Neighbor method, and interpolation processing by the Bilinear method is applied.
