PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a quantitative and simple measuring method of a functional group in an organic compound. SOLUTION: The measuring method of a functional group in an organic compound includes processes for: generating a chemical reaction between the functional group in the organic compound and a hydrogen halide, to thereby covalently bond halogen to the functional group; removing non-reacted halogen by washing the organic compound chemically reacted with the hydrogen halide; burning the organic compound from which the non-reacted hydrogen halide is removed; and measuring a halogen amount in a residue after burning.
