PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of communication quality by performing communication between communication apparatuses under control of the same address translation device directly on a path without interposing the address translation device. SOLUTION: A communication method includes the steps of: in each communication apparatus, describing a private address and a port number of the communication apparatus's own in a field, which is not modified by address translation processing of an address translation device, of a packet to be transmitted and transmitting the packet to a communication apparatus of a communication partner; in each communication apparatus, holding a corresponding relationship between session information and a private address and a port number of the communication apparatus of the communication partner in a session information table based on a packet received from the communication apparatus of the communication partner; in each communication apparatus, referring to the session information table to change a transmission destination address and a transmission destination port number of the packet to be transmitted into the private address and the port number of the communication apparatus of the communication partner and transmitting the packet to the communication apparatus of the communication partner.
