PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a user of only programs that can be currently viewed by excluding programs that cannot be viewed due to a situation of receiving radio waves from a choice. SOLUTION: An electronic program guide is displayed in a video display part of a television receiver. In the electronic program guide, a horizontal axis is defined as a channel axis, and a vertical axis is defined as a time axis. In an area (hereafter referred to as "program cell") demarcated by the channel axis 151 and the time axis 153, program information, such as a program name is displayed. A user selects his/her desired program by a direction key of a remote controller, etc., while looking at the program guide, and can perform program viewing, a viewing reservation, a video-recording reservation or the like by performing operation, such as to press a decision key. When the radio wave intensity of a broadcasting station is determined to be unviewable, the broadcasting station is reflected as a broadcasting station that cannot be viewed (the broadcasting station is displayed in such a manner that it can be distinguished from the display of a program of a broadcasting station determined to be able to view digital broadcasting).
