<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color liquid crystal display device capable of securing high luminance while obtaining high color rendering property and excellent color reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device includes a color liquid crystal display panel and a backlight 5 which includes a light source emitting green light and is disposed in the backside of the liquid crystal display panel. The light source is, for example, a fluorescent lamp 31. The light source satisfies the relation of Fgp<Lgp, Fgp<Vp and Vp-7≤Lgp≤Vp+16, wherein Lgp [nm] represents a peak wavelength of green light-emitting from the fluorescent lamp 31, Fgp [nm] represents a wavelength where the transmittance of an optical member to the green light reaches the maximum, the optical member disposed between the fluorescent lamp 31 and the display screen of the color liquid crystal display panel, and Vp [nm] represents a wavelength where a visibility curve reaches the maximum. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
