PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a planar antenna which switches a radiation direction of an electric wave by a high frequency switch and precisely radiates the electric wave in an intended specific direction without being affected by an electric length of the high frequency switch itself when switching the radiation direction. SOLUTION: The planar antenna includes: a substrate; a feed antenna element formed on one surface of the substrate; at least one parasitic antenna element disposed so as to be spaced from the feed antenna element by a prescribed element distance; a ground electrode formed on a surface facing the one surface of the substrate; and a high frequency switch which has at least one input terminal electrically connected to the parasitic antenna element and at least one output terminal from which a high frequency is outputted, and can switch a circuit between the input terminal and the output terminal to an open state or a short-circuit state.
