PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an application operation to be continued, even if a slave process is terminated abnormally, after a master process is terminated abnormally. SOLUTION: One of a plurality of slave processes CP<SB>1</SB>-CP<SB>n+1</SB>monitored and managed by a master process PP, a slave process CP<SB>n+1</SB>for example, is set to a proxy master process that executes the master process PP. When the master process PP is terminated abnormally, the slave process CP<SB>n+1</SB>as the proxy master process is caused to be a foster master of the slave processes CP<SB>1</SB>-CP<SB>n</SB>, thereby avoiding the presence of an orphan process to enable the application operation to be continued.
