PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a maintenance mechanism for an inkjet printer superior in durability. SOLUTION: In the maintenance mechanism 20, a tube pump 40 is connected to the upper part of a storing tank 25 communicating with cap members 211-214. When the tube pump 40 sucks air in the storing tank 25, the inside of the storing tank 25 becomes to a negative pressure condition. Then, the insides of the cap members 211-214 communicating with the storing tank 25 becomes to a negative pressure condition, and ink is sucked from recording heads 51-54. As the tube pump 40 is connected to the storing tank 25 above the liquid level of the ink stored in the storing tank 25, the ink does not enter into the tube pump 40.
