The device (1) has an actuating body (6) displaceable in a housing and comprising two guiding grooves (10, 11) lying angular to each other for guiding corresponding gripping arms (12, 13). Control cams (26, 27) are engaged in a control groove (25) for generating movement of the gripping arms relative to the actuating body. The guiding grooves are arranged at sides of the actuating body, lie in a common plane and intersect each other. Recesses are arranged on opposite sides of the gripping arms, where the control groove is arranged in a control plate.
