<p>The present invention relates to a method for characterizing the binding interaction of a candidate binder to a target molecule comprising - providing a microfluidic flow cell having - an inlet; - at least one supporting solid surface with at least one membraneophilic region; - a covering layer that is at least partially immobilized to the membraneophilic region, said covering layer consisting of (i) a surfactant membrane, (ii) a lipid mimicking polymer, (iii) a surfactant or emulsion system, or (iv) a liquid crystal, or a combination thereof; - the target molecule included in or bound to, connected to or associated with the covering layer; and -an outlet; said method further comprising - contacting the target molecule with the candidate binders by creating an eluent flow, comprising the candidate binders, from said inlet to said outlet; - detecting and/or identifying said candidate binders in the eluate - characterizing the binding interaction of the candidate binder to the target molecule based on the detection and/or identification of the candidate binder in the eluate. The invention also relates to a device adapted for use in said method.</p> |
