PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting element capable of suppressing damages occurring to a layer containing an organic matter during deposition by a sputtering method, and a light emitting element capable of suppressing damages occurring to a layer containing an organic matter and also suppressing a short circuit or the like between the electrodes, during deposition by the sputtering method.

SOLUTION: The light emitting element has a layer containing an organic matter between a first electrode and a second electrode, and furthermore has a layer containing a metal oxide between the second electrode and the layer containing the organic matter, and these electrodes and layers are laminated so that the second electrode may be formed later than the first electrode.
