摘要 Disclosed are: a novel mercury oxidation catalyst with high durability, which contains V2O5 and MoO3 as active components and has suppressed evaporation of MoO3; and a method for producing the mercury oxidation catalyst. Specifically disclosed is a mercury oxidation catalyst which oxidizes mercury in an exhaust gas into mercury chloride. The mercury oxidation catalyst is characterized in that: TiO2 is used for a carrier; V2O5 and MoO3 are supported by the carrier as active components; and at least one kind of atom or compound selected from the group consisting of W, Cu, Co, Ni, Zn and compounds of these elements is supported by the carrier as an MoO3 evaporation suppressing component.
