METHOD FOR EXTRACTING OIL-AND-FAT FROM SCENEDESMUS ALGAE, AND APPLICATION OF OIL-AND-FAT AND DEGREADED RESIDUE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for obtaining highly efficiently oil-and-fat (hydrocarbons) included in minute algae as a kind of scenedesmus, a fuel including the oil-and-fat, and a method for producing a derivative (fatty acid alkyl esters) using the oil-and-fat as raw materials.

SOLUTION: A method for extracting oil-and-fat from minute algae as a kind of scenedesmus comprises: (a) a step of adjusting the moisture content of wet algae of minute algae to 5 mass% to 96 mass% with respect to the total mass; (b) a step of processing the cell wall of the algae in the wet algae of the step (a) for destructing the same; and (c) a step of extracting oil-and-fat from the processed product obtained in the step (b).
