PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor inhibiting fatigue breakage of a plate part and inhibiting one-side contact and seizure of a vane. SOLUTION: The rotary compressor includes a drive part 13 driving a rotating shaft 16 and a compressor body 14 connected to the rotating shaft 16, which are contained inside a casing 15. The compressor body 14 comprises a cylinder 18 provided inside the casing 15, a rolling piston 19 provided to eccentrically rotate in the cylinder 18 and bearings 21, 22 provided on the upper end face and the lower end face of the cylinder 18. The cylinder 18 is provided with a vane groove 27, in which the vane 31 is inserted and divides a compression chamber 23 formed by the cylinder 18, the rolling piston 19 and the bearings 21, 22 into two, and a slit 28. The slit 28 is formed so that an angle defined by a straight line connecting the center of a side face on a vane groove side of the slit 28 and the center of the cylinder 18 and by the axis of the vane groove 27 is not smaller than 9°and not larger than 14°.
