The method involves displaying a graphical object (6) in a display region (2-1), and moving the graphical object in to another display region (2-2) by an operating device. An anchor object for the graphical object is displayed in the former display region, where the anchor object permits an operation of the graphical object, which is displayed in the latter display region, by the operating device. The graphical object is moved back upon actuation of the anchor object, and displayed in the former display region. An independent claim is also included for a device for providing a user interface in a vehicle.
