PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably reduce time and cost required for newly installation or repair of an L-shaped support for a protective wall for supporting a protective wall, such as a soundproof/sound insulating wall, a wind/snow protection wall, or the like installed on an elevated traffic line. SOLUTION: By using a protective-wall-support-installation auxiliary tool exclusively for guiding the L-shaped-protective-wall support to the vicinity of a predetermined installation position of a bridge girder of the elevated traffic line, the protective-wall support is smoothly lifted to the vicinity of the predetermined installation position of the bridge girder while a vertical portion of the L-shaped-protective-wall support is guided by the auxiliary tool. The protective-wall support is released from the auxiliary tool at the vicinity of the predetermined installation position to detachably fix the lower end of the protective-wall support to the bridge girder. The protective-wall-support-installation auxiliary tool detachably mounts a vertically long gutter-shaped guide member on the front surface of a vertically long substrate, or pivotably mounts the vertically long gutter-shaped guide member on the front surface of the vertically long substrate via a hinge. A cylindrical portion, by which the vertical portion of the L-shaped-protective-wall support is guided upward while fitting, is formed with the substrate and the gutter-shaped guide member.
