PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insulate an existing single-layer glass sash window without replacing the rail. SOLUTION: In this construction method, a window 100 including a glass pane 101 and a metal sash frame 102 in the recess of which the four sides of the glass pane 101 are fitted is remodeled in a double-glazed insulated window. A transparent plate 103 having the generally same outline as a surface surrounded by the inner circumference of the sash frame 102 is fixed at a position where the transparent plate is not extruded from the sash frame 102 so as to be apart from the glass pane 101 at a predetermined interval so that an air layer can be formed with regard to the glass pane 101 and a caulking treatment is applied between the sash frame 102 and the transparent plate 103.
