The gap 6 between pole-pieces 2, 3 is accurately located relative to a brass casing 1 by forming rebates 2c, 3c in the polepieces and rebates 4c, 5c in the spacers 4, 5 to receive the edges of the casing. The polepieoes are connected by a glass filled gap, strengthened by ceramic insert 15 and these are cemented to the spacers 4, 5 and the yoke 9. The assembly is then cemented into the casing 1. The cement used is synthetic resin and the casing is then filled with a suitable potting material, e.g. epoxy resin. Alternatively the rebates may be formed in the edges of the casing. |
