PURPOSE: A detachable television set having an external device and a method for operating the same are provided to reliably input a command inputted through a remote controller to a television set by including a remote control reception module. CONSTITUTION: A detachable television set comprises: a display module which outputs image information; a first remote control reception module which receives a command received from a remote controller; a display device(10) which includes a first wireless module for inputting/outputting a signal wirelessly; a second wireless module which inputs/outputs a signal wirelessly; and an external device(20) which provides the information processed in the display device.
