PURPOSE: An apparatus for modifying IP-CAN(Internet Protocol Connectivity Access Network) session in an IMS(Internet protocol Multimedia Subsystem) network and a method thereof are provided to reduce a service unavailable time by not transmitting PCC(Policy and Charging Control) rule to a PCDF(Policy and Charging Enforcement Function). CONSTITUTION: If a PCEF receives an IP-CAN session generation request from a UE(User Equipment), the apparatus determines whether a single bearer support of a bearer in the IP-CAN session is available or not(601,603). If the bearer supports the single bearer, the apparatus creates a CCR(Credit-Control-Request) command(605). The apparatus transmits the generated CCR command to a PCRF(Policy and Charging Rules Function)(609). If the CCA(Credit-Control-Answer) command is received, the apparatus applies the PCC rule within the received CCA command(611,613). |
