A mounting apparatus 1 for mounting a temporary barrier on a platform. The apparatus 1 comprises a base member 9 and a clamping member 11. The clamping member 11 is movably mounted on a threaded member 17 and a rotatable element 21 is provided for moving the clamping member 11 relative to the base member 9. In use, the base member 9 locates on an upper surface of the platform and the clamping member contracts an underside of the platform. Also disclosed is an apparatus 101 for mounting a temporary barrier on a staircase A. This may include an adjustable clamping member (111 Figure 9) pivotable about a horizontal axis (157). |
