<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processing apparatus and method for arbitrating access to a shared resource by transactions issued from a plurality of sources within the data processing apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The data processing apparatus has a shared resource that processes transactions, and at least one master device that issues the transactions to the shared resource. The at least one master device provides a plurality of sources of the transactions, and each of the transactions has a priority level associated with the source. An arbitration circuit is used to apply an arbitration policy to select a certain transaction among the plurality of transactions issued to the shared resource, and the arbitration policy uses the priority level associated with each of the plurality of transactions when selection is executed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
