PURPOSE: A method and a device for storing data to a memory of a portable terminal are provided to store the data such as a computer file by using an unused memory of the portable terminal such as a mobile phone or a PDA(Personal Digital Assistant). CONSTITUTION: A transmitting/receiving part(601) transmits or receives need information by connecting to the portable terminal through wired/wireless. A storing tool stores the data. An input part(603) receives a list output command to output a list of the data stored in the storing tool, and a transfer command to transfer data selection information and the selected data to the portable terminal from a user. An output part(604) receives/provides a data list to the user. A data manager(602) generates/provides the list of the data stored in the storing tool to the output part by the list output command and transfers the selected data read from the storing tool to the portable terminal through the transmitting/receiving part by the transfer command.
