PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute blood sugar value measurement in an appropriate environment by surely detecting temperature variation around a blood sugar meter. SOLUTION: An internal temperature thermistor is provided within an enclosure of the blood sugar meter for measuring intra-enclosure temperature of the sugar meter while an outside air-temperature thermistor comprising components of small heat capacity for measuring outside air temperature is provided in a position distant from the enclosure center of the sugar meter. A microcomputer in the blood sugar meter includes a process for determining whether or not the temperature variation is within an allowance from a difference in temperature between the thermistors, and, in cases where the allowance is exceeded, suspending processing until the temperature variation falls within the allowance if the value measurement is not yet performed, and discontinuing the value measurement if the value measurement is in progress.
