摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monolayer or multilayer gas barrier film including an ionically crosslinked polycarboxylic acid polymer film excellent in gas barrier properties, and to provide a production method producible of the monolayer or multilayer gas barrier film comprising the ionically crosslinked polycarboxylic acid polymer film using an aqueous polymerizable monomer composition by a simple method. SOLUTION: The gas barrier film including the ionically crosslinked polycarboxylic acid polymer film and the production method thereof are provided, wherein polymerization treatment of a coating film of the aqueous polymerizable monomer composition, which contains anα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and a polyvalent metal ion in an amount sufficient to neutralize 10-90% of a carboxy group of theα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer dissolved or dispersed in water in an amount of 20-85 wt.% based on the total amount of the composition, is performed and heat treatment of the cured coating film formed from the polymerization treatment is performed to form the ionically crosslinked polycarboxylic acid polymer film having an oxygen transmission rate of 50×10<SP>-4</SP>cm<SP>3</SP>(STP)/(m<SP>2</SP>×s×MPa) or less as measured under high-humidity conditions of a temperature of 30°C and a relative humidity of 80%.
