Disclosed is a 5-[2-(5,6-diethyl-indan-2-ylamino)-1-hydroxyethyl]-8-hydroxy-1H-quinolin-2-one salt or solvate form of formula (I) where A is acetate or xinafoate. The compound is preferably the R isomer. The compound could be in crystalline form and specific x-ray diffraction powder patterns are disclosed. Also disclosed is a pharmaceutical composition comprising a compound of formula (I) and the use of a compound of formula (I) in the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of an inflammatory or obstructive airway disease such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Further disclosed is a process for preparing a compound of formula (I).
