<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection device for detecting the three-dimensional coordinates of a target object, and for performing an optimal detecting operation according to using situations. <P>SOLUTION: The position detection device is provided with a mode switcher. As a second mode M2, the mode switcher stops X coordinate detection and Y coordinate detection, and makes a position detection unit perform a low frequency detection mode M21 (standby mode) in which the detection cycle of Z coordinate detection is set to a cycle which is longer than a cycle for a first mode. As the second mode M2, the mode switcher stops the Z coordinate detection, and makes the position detection unit perform a high frequency detection mode M22 (handwritten input mode) in which the detection cycle of the X coordinate detection and the Y coordinate detection is set to a cycle which is shorter than the cycle for the first mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
