The method involves lifting a safety casing (1) for person-or material transport by a crane system (2) from a deck of a supply ship (9), where the crane system measures and compensates motion of the supply ship. Vertical motions of the supply ship are enabled in a crane hook, so that the safety casing is not impinged on the deck during lifting or displacement of the safety casing. The safety casing is lifted or set down from the deck in a fast manner when the supply ship is moved downwardly. The safety casing is not impinged on the deck when the supply ship is moved upwardly.
