PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus which can flexibly perform link speed control even in an energy saving mode.

SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus 100 includes: a main substrate 104 for controlling the operation of the entire device; a sub substrate 106 for performing data communication with a device of a network connection destination through a network 124; and a power supply control part 134 for controlling power supply from a power supply to energize the main substrate 104 and the sub substrate 106 in a normal mode, and to disconnect the energization to the main substrate 104 and energize only the sub substrate 106 in the energy saving mode. Wherein, the sub substrate 106 includes a link speed control part 214 for controlling a link speed with the network 124.
