PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cold cathode discharge lamp with a long electrode, which facilitates manufacture at low cost. SOLUTION: The cold cathode discharge lamp includes a glass bulb 1 formed with a discharge space 11 inside it, a discharge medium enclosed in the discharge space 11, and the electrode 32 provided inside the glass bulb 1, wherein the electrode 32 is configured with a cup member 321 having a bottom 3211 and a side part 3212 and a cylindrical member 322 with axial length of≥10 mm, the side part 3212 of the cup member 321 and the cylindrical member 322 are overlapped to connect them.
