A solar power system (100) for supplying concentrated solar energy (108). The system (100) includes a cylindrical absorber tube (150) carrying the working fluid (115) and a concentrator assembly (110), which includes an array (130) of linear lenses (134) such as Fresnel lenses. The concentrator assembly (110) includes a planar optical wafer (142) paired with each of the linear lenses (134) to direct light, which the lenses (134) focus on a first edge of the wafers (142), onto the collector (150) via a second or output edge of the wafers (142). Each of the optical wafers (142) is formed from a light transmissive material and acts as a light "pipe." The lens array (130) is spaced apart a distance from the first edges of the optical wafers (142). This distance or lens array height is periodically adjusted to account for seasonal changes in the Sun's position, such that the focal point of each linear lens (134) remains upon the first edge of one of the optical wafers (142) yearlong.
