A golf bag stand comprises a first leg means 10 arranged to be secured by means of cradles 14 and 21 and straps 17 and 22 to a golf bag 11, and a pair of legs 12 pivotally carried by the first leg means. The first leg means comprises an outer tube 13, the lower end of which carries an L-shaped metal member 18 having a vertical limb 19 and a horizontal limb 20. A first clamp 25 is secured to the tube 13 by a rivet 29 which passes through a U- shaped member having a base 27 and arms 28, the tube 13 and a staple 26, and the staple is riveted to the base 27 at 30. The upper ends of legs 12 are pivoted to the arms 28. A nylon sleeve 32 is slidable on the tube 13 and carries a second clamp 33. The second clamp comprises a staple 34 and a U-shaped member 35 having a base 36 and diverging arms 37. The tube 13 is slotted at 39 and a pin 40 passes through the staple 34 and the sleeve 32 and is received in an inner rod 41 which is a sliding fit in the outer tube 13. The arms 37 are connected to the legs 12 by a pair of L-shaped links 42 pivoted at each end by rivets 44 and 46. A strap 47 of flexible material extends between the legs 12. The rod 41 is acted upon by a spring 48 which is housed in tube 13 above the upper end 49 of rod 41, and the upper end of the spring abuts against the rivet 29.</p> |
